Photo Albums…

Hello friends . . . grace and peace,

If you’ve been following this blog then you’ve been reading some great stories and seeing some great pictures.

Over on facebook, Aran has been uploading photos to a photo album daily.  You do NOT need to have your own facebook account in order to see these pictures.

Aran has run into an issue, however.  One photo album on facebook can only contain 1,000 photos.  He’s gotten a little camera happy and he’s eclipsed that mark.

So, another photo album has been started.

Here’s where you can see BOTH albums

Part 1 HERE

Part 2 HERE

peace to you

  1. Some kids at Awana have some questions about your trip in general…

Is it pretty there? – Shelby

Is the desert big? – Emily

What kind of food do they eat? = Meghan

Are there houses? What do they look like? Ani

Do you have good drinking water? =Shelby

I will look though the blog and photos and try to find these answers,

  2. Thanks you to all the AWANA kids for all the great questions . . . let’s see if we can answer some of them!!

Shelby – it IS pretty here. In fact, it’s one of the more beautiful places any of us have ever seen. It’s pretty cool to walk in the places where people like Abraham, Moses, Elijah, and Jesus walked!

Emily – The desert IS big, but it’s not the same kind of desert that you’d see in a place like Egypt. The desert here is mostly rocks and dirt and it’s VERY hilly. Egypt is mostly sand. But yes, there are parts of the desert here that stretches for MILES. But, in lots of places, like Jerusalem, there are trees and flowers and bushes lots of vegetation.

Meghan – The food here is amazing!! Lots of roasted chicken which has been great. We eat a lot of bread of “salad” which is lots of different things like cabbage and hummus and something that’s kind of like salsa but different. We’ve also eaten lots of eggs for breakfast. But the most interesting thing some of us had was GOAT MEAT!!! Baaaaaa! It was really good.

Ani – There are lots of people who live in this part of the world and so yes there are lots of houses. Some of the houses here look just like houses that we see back home. There are A LOT of apartment buildings where the grandparent live on the ground floor, then their kids and the grandkids live on the upper floors, sometimes 2 or 3 or 4 floors. The family ALL live together in one building. It’s really neat.

Shelby – The water here is very good in some places but not so good in others. At the college where we are staying it’s just fine. But in some places in Jerusalem, certain people don’t have access to water because other people use too much. This makes us sad to see people hurting and suffering because others are being selfish.

Thanks for the questions!!! You can always ask more!!!
